Privacy Policy

BeforeQuote is a small calculator site for early home project planning. You do not need an account to use it, and the calculator forms are designed to work in your browser.

Calculator inputs

The numbers and choices you enter into a calculator are used to update the estimate on the page. By default, those inputs are not submitted to a BeforeQuote account or lead form. If that changes in the future, the page will explain what is being sent before you submit anything.

Planning tools such as Quote Prep Kit and Compare Bids may save draft project details, bid totals, contractor names, and checklist selections in your browser's local storage so you can return to the plan later. Those drafts stay on your device unless you copy, download, email, or submit them through a checklist request.

Analytics

We use analytics tools to understand which pages are visited, whether the site works well on different devices, and how people find the calculators. Analytics may include page URL, referrer, device and browser details, approximate location, and interaction data such as page views.

We may use Google Analytics, Cloudflare Web Analytics, Google Search Console, or similar tools. These services have their own data practices and may use cookies or other browser technologies depending on the tool.

Advertising

BeforeQuote may show ads through Google AdSense or another ad network. Ad providers may use cookies or similar technologies to show, limit, personalize, or measure ads. We do not ask users to click ads, and ads should not be presented as calculator results.

Email

If you email us, we use your email address and message to read, route, and respond to that conversation. Please do not send urgent repair requests, passwords, payment details, or sensitive personal information by email.

Some pages include a checklist request form. When configured, that form sends your email address, optional short project summary, page context, form variant when present, and submission time to a private BeforeQuote lead destination so we can send checklist updates. The project summary field is intended for a lightweight label such as "kitchen remodel in Seattle", not full bid text, street address, phone number, contractor name, or private project notes. If the lead endpoint is unavailable, the form falls back to opening your email app with a draft message to BeforeQuote.

Analytics events for checklist requests should record page context, form variant when present, and submit method only, not your email address or project notes.

Feedback

Each page may include a feedback form for bug reports, suggestions, data corrections, content issues, and usability feedback. When configured, that form can send your feedback category, message, optional contact email, page path, submission time, and up to two small screenshots to private BeforeQuote feedback storage or a private feedback endpoint. Screenshots are limited by file type and size before upload.

Do not include contractor quotes, customer names, contractor names, street addresses, phone numbers, signatures, payment details, emergency repair requests, or other sensitive information in feedback. The form includes a confirmation checkbox and automated limits to reduce accidental sensitive submissions.

Analytics events for feedback should record category, page group, image count, message length bucket, email presence, status, and submit method only, not your email address, feedback message, screenshot names, or image content.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal information through this site. We also do not operate a contractor marketplace or sell calculator submissions, checklist requests, or project notes as contractor leads.
